Sulphur Springs Trail Run - May 25, 2013

Here we go! It’s May, you’ve paid to play and you’re going to have some serious fun at Sulphur Springs. In 2013 over 1200 runners have agreed to take part in the 21st edition of this trail race. There will be 350 in each of the 10K & 25K. 100 will step to the line in the 50K, 50 MILE and 100 MILE. Two hundred and sixteen runners (27 teams) will test their running mettle through the day while completing successive legs of the 100 MILE RELAY.The Dundas Valley Conservation Area has been the host site for this race since 1993 and remains one of the most beautiful places to run trail in Ontario. It is also a fine place to begin trail running, start your ultra career or PB in your chosen distance.

Over the years the Burlington Runners have contributed almost $32,000 to the Hamilton Conservation Foundation towards improvements and maintenance of the park trails with the proceeds from the Sulphur Springs Trail Run. In 2012 we donated $8000. Our hope is to continue this legacy well into the future.

T-SHIRTS & SANDALS ON SALE

We have a number of surplus pieces left over from previous years that will be available at the FIRE SALE price of $5 EACH. This includes last year’s black cotton T-Shirt, 2011 Technical sleeveless T-shirt and the ever popular NEW BALANCE sandal. Sizing is limited but five bucks is too good to pass up especially if you liked the previous race item.

PARKING

Race day parking is available around the Ancaster Community Centre. The rear lots fill early on Saturday morning so if you’re in the 50K, 25K or 10K you are better to look for a spot in front or on the south side of the Ancaster Community Centre. When this lot fills there is plenty of plenty across from the centre at the Ancaster High School.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL TRAILERS BE PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THE SITE.

We hope to provide you a nice assortment of restorative food and fluid after your event. You will need to be wearing your race bib to gain access to the food tent. Menus for each race are below

Choice of 1 fresh carrot & apple juice, or orange red beet juice, or bottled water.

DROP BAGS

100 & 50 Milers will be able to place a bag under tent cover at the Start/Finish area on Saturday morning before the 6:00 AM race start.

100 Milers will also be able to place a drop bag for Aid Station #1 (GATEHOUSE). These must be placed in the designated spot at the Start/Finish area on Friday May 24th. These bags will be transported to A.S.#1 by volunteers. 100 Mile runners should be aware that these bags will not be transported back to the start/finish until late Sunday morning. For those who wish to have them sooner they will need to drive (4K) to AS#1 to retrieve them. Most 100 Mile runners do not use a drop bag at AS#1 as the loop at Sulphur Springs is only 20K.
